Portrait Pro Drawing Guide- guiding you to professional portraits
Portrait Pro Drawing Guide
What
I was inspired to pursue the PortraitPro as a result of teaching others to draw portraits over many years. I had been trying to develop a guide to simplify the process for people and overcome their initial resistance to drawing and believing they can’t draw.
Why
- This is a hard plastic device that aids people in creating the correct proportions for their portraits and helps the create neat circles for the eyes.
- This is important in supporting novice artists in creating a successful portrait that is pleasing to their eye. Once this has been achieved they will gain confidence and the ability to apply their newfound knowledge and skills into freehand portraits.
- I will create a prototype based on a 12cm circumference portrait that fits an A4 sheet of paper out of thin plastic
- I will source the correct transparent plastic material
- I will create the design on the computer to be laser cut
- I will make my first prototype and try it out
- Then make any adjustments necessary
- I will then make 10 to begin with, conduct my first portraiture workshop to test its effectiveness
- I then need to solve the problems of posting it to those doing the online course, work out logistics, postage, charges etc.
- Consider creating a printable template for people to cut their own circles out of as a ‘make your own portrait pro drawing guide’.
- I will be guided by Michael Bromage and create it at Daktech
- I would like to complete the prototype by the 29th of February
- I would like to have produced the first 10 the 3rd of February
- I would like to advertise and deliver the first portraiture workshop for the 10th of March. I would need to start advertising by the 29th of February
