Making signs

Signs for DakTech’s maker space

What

Why

I will make nice looking signs for DakTech’s maker space to help customers, clients, research participants, etc. easily find their way around the facility and easily locate the tools and resources needed to do their projects. I’ll ask diverse stakeholders what I should consider and combined with my observations will decide which signs will be most useful, how to design them, and where to put them. I’ll work with DakTech’s marketing person so that the signs are on-brand and consistent, and test ideas through prototyping. I’ll need to learn how to better use design software and resources for sign making – possibly lightburn and the laser cutter and will use resources in DakTech’s maker space to produce the signage.

Purpose

Signage will make it easier for people to find useful resources in DakTech’s maker space, which means I can help activate the creative underground.
