Townsville Writers & Publishers Centre
TWPC provides opportunities for beginner, emerging, and established writers to develop their craft and knowledge of all things writing including how to write in a range of genres (e.g. mystery, fantasy, horror, romance, popular fiction) and styles (novel, short story, poetry, etc). Our volunteer facilitators run five writing groups that meet once or twice a month (7 meetings a month). They regularly run free mini workshops (40-60 minutes) as part of those meetings, plus our members critique each other’s work, and share information about all things writing.
TWPC also provides a monthly newsletter, guest presenters, workshops, competitions, and retreats. They promote writing across North Queensland, particularly in the Townsville region and they strengthen creative partnership opportunities with practitioners of a variety of creative art forms in order to grow the literary industry in the region. TWPC is a not-for-profit writing group.

The All Genre, Contemporary Fiction, Kids Literature and Speculative Fiction groups meet evenings at Aitkenvale Library. The Queensland Writers Centre ‘Writing Saturday’ group meet Saturday mornings at the Riverway library.

Currently, TWPC does not have office space and so are unable offer any resources such as printers etc.
