During one of our Tuesday night CRU socials at DakTech we were talking about how to find grants. A quick search online:
A local grant to keep in my . I applied for the Townsville Airport Grant and received funding to host potttery workshops at the Townsville Women’s Centre . The round just closed. Something for future reference. Finding an organisation to auspice a grant is great way to start if you haven’t managed grant funding before and need the backing of a recognised organisation https://www.townsvilleairport.com.au/community/community-benefit-fund
Another great way to learn about the process of applying for a grant is to become part of a committee that reviews grants . I was part of the RADF committee and gained valuable insights into how grants are assessed. They were looking for people from diverse art backgrounds who had connections to different organisations when I volunteered . Met some fabulous people and learned a lot . There are other paid roles with different grant bodies and opportunities to help and be paid to write grant applications.
